Our Team
David grew up with a deep appreciation of nature and the outdoors and experienced its restorative and healing qualities from an early age. As a health psychologist and researcher in Northwestern University’s Department of Medical Social Sciences, one area of his research focuses on the health benefits of mindfulness meditation and its stress reducing and quality of life enhancing effects for people with cancer. As the Founder and Executive Director of True North Treks, David’s vision is to be able to offer similar healing and restorative experiences to young adult cancer survivors through reconnecting with these simple, yet life changingly important elements – the outdoors and mindfulness meditation. He is honored to be able to do this and work with such amazing people. In addition to this, David enjoys cooking, standup paddle boarding, watching Saturday morning cartoons with his kids and walking around Home Depot and REI.
